There’s something special about kitchen appliances that are both functional and beautiful. I’ve always loved creating a calm, cozy atmosphere at home, and for me, that includes investing in electronics that also work as interior details. When everyday objects are thoughtfully designed, they don’t need to be hidden away, they become part of the styling.

Lately, I’ve been especially drawn to Smeg’s timeless aesthetic. The soft retro-inspired shapes, clean lines, and beautiful color options make their appliances feel more like decor pieces than just kitchen tools. Here are all of my current favorites and items on my wishlist: SMEG Kitchen Favorites

A few key pieces can completely transform the kitchen

  1. A 2-slice toaster for slow weekend breakfasts
  2. If you’re a family, the 4-slice toaster might be a better fit
  3. The mini kettle (0.8L), perfect if you live in a small space or alone
  4. For families, the larger 1.7L kettle is more practical
  5. A coffee machine for daily rituals
  6. A kettle for tea and cozy evenings
  7. A smoothie blender for fresh mornings
  8. Or a compact blender for smoothies on the go

Matching for a minimalist kitchen

One of my favorite styling tips is to match appliances in the same color palette. It creates a clean, intentional look and makes the kitchen feel more harmonious. Instead of mixing too many finishes, keeping a consistent tone helps everything blend together.

My personal favorites are steel or chrome finishes combined with soft cream or beige tones. They feel calm, timeless, and easy to style with neutral interiors. At the same time, I also love that there are more colorful options if you want to add a subtle pop. A pastel tone can become a beautiful accent in an otherwise minimal kitchen. My favorited for a pop of color is the light blue collection.

A Cozy Morning Routine

My schedule is quite busy, but I love keeping my mornings slow. A calm and cozy start makes a big difference. For me the best way to start the day is to make a nice coffee, preferably with soft, creamy foam. There’s something comforting about taking a few extra minutes to prepare a proper cup instead of rushing. For me, a beautiful coffee machine and milk frother make the whole ritual feel more intentional and enjoyable.

I especially love appliances that can stay on the counter. They make the kitchen feel lived-in and welcoming. A matching coffee setup instantly creates a cohesive and calm look. An espresso machine that grinds beans is currently high on my wishlist. There’s something luxurious about freshly ground coffee in the morning, and a slightly more advanced machine feels like a small everyday upgrade that I would truly use.

These three are on my wishlist righ now:

  1. Chrome Espresso Machine
  2. Small Espresso Machine
  3. Cream Espresso Machine

Beautiful enough to leave on display

I genuinely love appliances that don’t need to be stored away. When design and function meet, the kitchen feels more curated and personal. A coffee machine next to a toaster, paired with a few ceramic cups, can create a cozy little corner that looks intentional and inviting.

Speaking of cups — I also love pairing appliances with beautiful mugs or espresso cups. It makes the whole coffee ritual feel complete and adds another layer of warmth to the space.

Investing in everyday details

I tend to see kitchen electronics as long-term pieces rather than temporary tools. If something is used daily, I think it’s worth choosing a version that both performs well and adds to the atmosphere of the home. Beautiful appliances can truly elevate everyday routines — from slow mornings with coffee to quick smoothies before heading out. When everything works together visually, the kitchen becomes a place you want to spend time in.
